Some people gamble to get easy money. Starting with a little capital, some luck and courage, you get to reap huge amounts of money in a little time. Well, at least that is the goal and desire of gamblers. To these people, this is their source of income. Winning is a livelihood to them, and loosing will be a nightmare that will put their lives into misery for the rest of their lives.
You may wonder why a large percentage of the gambling community belongs to the lower class of society. You may also be wondering why it isn't the other way around. Where are all the winners and high rollers?
The lower class being deprived of a proper schooling has chosen to earn money not by taking jobs but by investing their money on their gambling skills. This form of investment is very risky but the return of investment is very quick. In an instant you can either make your money double itself or make it disappear in an instant.
The risk is usually overlooked when you have a hungry stomach to feed. It is the same with crime. Thieves do not care if they get shot by cops while robbing a bank, if successful it would mean becoming millionaires in just one day.
The same goes with mice. Even if they know they will be trapped in a mouse trap, they would still continue to pursue the bait no matter what. The poor people of society are always looser in the game. They may win one day, but they cannot get out or escape the endless cycle of gambling. For them, winning for a day is not really winning. It is just a task, a responsibility that they have to keep in order to feed their family.
This game of life can either spell life or death for them. Instinct dictates that the liabilities be ignored if assets are more rewarding and promising. Loosing a thousand is nothing if you are going to gain a million in return. So with this thing in mind, the hope to become a millionaire always kept alive, keeps the poor in the same place that they have started.
Instead of progress, they get stuck up, trapped into believing that they can make their lives better by staying on the game. The hope keeps them alive, gives them something to look forward to. Just like an addict is attached with his drugs, the gambler is also trapped into playing the loosing game.
Don't become trapped yourself. Remember that gambling is supposed to be fun. When it becomes an obsession that is when it is time to stop.
